Tipical Calabrian Easter sweets are created by placing chocolate eggs at the center or inside, as a decoration. The dough can be shaped into various forms, allowing for creativity and fantasy.

 

The ingredients to prepare Calabrian Easter Cookies with lemon

 

  • 1 kg of organic chestnut flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 330 g of sugar
  • 125 g of organic extra virgin olive oil with lemon
  • 1 packet of vanilla powder
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 20 g of lemon salt
  • 130 ml of warm milk
  • Grated zest of one lemon

How to prepare Calabrian Easter Cookies with lemon

Begin by preparing the organic chestnut flour on a work surface and forming a well in the center.

Slowly pour in the eggs, sugar, lemon-flavored salt, and organic extra virgin olive oil with lemon. Add the grated lemon zest, vanilla powder, a glass of milk with ammonia, and a glass of milk with baking powder.

Knead the dough and, when it becomes difficult to continue, add the warm milk and baking powder. Add the grated lemon zest and continue kneading until you obtain a soft and homogeneous dough. At the end, decorate with chocolate eggs on top.

Then, shape it into desired forms and place in the oven.
